CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cleveland Clinic London is expanding with the construction of an 81,000-square-foot cancer center expected to open in 2027, the health system recently announced.
The new multidisciplinary cancer center will allow Cleveland Clinic London to expand its cancer care, including immunotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapies and radiotherapy tailored to each patient.
Construction is slated to begin late this year, the Clinic said in a news release. The health system declined to provide the expansion’s cost.
In addition to cancer care, Cleveland Clinic London plans to introduce a wider range of clinical services at the new facility, the health system said.
Cleveland Clinic London currently offers advanced surgical treatment for a wide range of cancers, with a multidisciplinary team to personalize each patient’s care.
Consultants at Cleveland Clinic London will collaborate closely with colleagues at the health system’s cancer programs in the United States and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to bring advanced cancer therapies to patients in the United Kingdom, the health system said.
“Our mission is rooted in providing patients with the highest quality care, wherever they live,” said Clinic CEO Dr. Tom Mihaljevic. “By expanding our services in London, we are addressing the growing demand for advanced cancer care and meeting the needs of patients closer to home.”
Cleveland Clinic London — a 184-bed hospital near Buckingham Palace in central London — opened in 2022 at a cost of $1 billion. It joined the Clinic’s London outpatient facility that opened in 2021.
