Ric Flair shared some great news with fans.
In June, Flair told PEOPLE that he was recently diagnosed with skin cancer. At the time, Flair also said that this was the second time he had skin cancer in three years, but planned to begin treatment immediately.
Now, Ric Flair has shared a positive update on his health, announcing on social media that he is now cancer-free.
“Thank You Academic Alliance In Dermatology! I’m Now Cancer Free! WOOOOO!” Flair wrote on Twitter/X.
Ric Flair previously denied having skin cancer
Flair also denied having cancer of “any kind.” Concerns for Flair’s health arose after Conrad Thompson, a wrestling promoter/podcaster and Flair’s son-in-law, stated that Flair had a skin cancer removed.
In June, PEOPLE claimed that Flair publicly denied he had cancer again to keep his diagnosis private until he was ready to share the news. PEOPLE also said Flair denied those reports a second time. However, he eventually confirmed the news and said he “appreciated the concerns.”
Ric Flair has dealt with significant health issues in recent years. This includes an August 2017 hospitalization for stomach pains, which led to Flair being put in a medically induced coma. Flair had a low chance of survival because he was in the early stages of kidney failure. He was also close to congestive heart failure. “The Nature Boy” returned to the ring for his retirement match in 2022. In 2024, Flair said that his doctor informed him he had a heart attack during the match, but didn’t know it.
Over the weekend, Flair announced that, due to personal and health-related issues, he was unable to attend the ATL Comic Convention in Atlanta. However, that post has since been deleted from social media.
